Strawberry Banana Coconut Water Smoothie

When I was asked by Epicurex to see if I was interested in trying out their Organic Coconut Water product, I thought I should give it a shot. Coming from Kerala (land of kera - meaning coconut), I definitely wanted to give this product a try. I have tried a few others before, but it was all a miss. None of those felt natural to me. So when I got the package delivered, I and a few of my friends gave it a try - it was like drinking directly from the coconut - nothing un-natural. I have found the perfect Coconut Water that I can drink when away from the land of coconut! I decided to try a recipe for a smoothie with it and it was a hit too!

Print / Save this Recipe

Makes 1 cup

Strawberry- 8
Banana- 1
Greek yogurt- 1/4 cup
Coconut water- 1/4 cup

  1. Blend the banana and strawberry well in a mixer.
  2. Add the Greek yogurt and coconut water and blend it again to bring it to a smooth consistency.

You can also try freezing the coconut water to make ice cubes and use it to give it a frozen consistency. A very healthy and tasty drink ideal for breakfast or any other time of the day.

For people who are used to drinking coconut water straight from the coconut, Cocozia is a must try. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Punjabi Lassi

Origin of Lassi goes back to Punjab. The main ingredient in Lassi is yogurt. Different lassis are made by combining yogurt with different spices or fruits - Salted Lassi, Sweet Lassi, Mango Lassi, Makhaniya Lassi and what not. It is an excellent drink for summer. There is nothing better than having a big glass of lassi during a hot summer day. The recipe I have here is one for a sweet lassi.

Yogurt - 1 cup
Water  - 3/4 cup
Salt      - 1/4 tsp
Sugar   - 2 1/2 tbsp

Blend all the ingredients together in a mixer and your drink is ready. Now drink this and cool off!!!

Mixed Fruit Milk Shake

Always having milk is no fun... Kids (at least my son) gets bored of drinking milk every once in a while. That is when I started trying to flavor milk. While shopping at Costco, I happened to see this Frozen Mixed Fruits (from Spectrum Blend brand) that had Peach, Strawberry, White Peach, Pineapple, Honeydew Melon and Blueberries. I took it thinking about making a fruit salad, then thought why not blend it into a Milk Shake...

I took a handful of fruits from the frozen packet (tried to pick at least one piece of each fruit), a scoop of Vanilla Ice-cream, a cup of milk and a table spoon of sugar (add this depending on how sweet you want). Blended it all together in a blender and poured it into a wine glass.

My son enjoyed every bit of it. Infact, he loved the shake as well as drinking from a wine glass :-)
And this is my entry for the following (My first attempt at any food blog events):
